Engine fan question

I noticed when the fans turn on, only one spins, then when the one shuts off the other does about 2 rotations. Is that normal?....never had any problems just confused about it.

in my car one will only turn on until it starts to get really hot then they both turn on. Try turning on the a/c and see if both fans go on

I'm pretty sure that the other fan only comes on when you turn on the AC.

OK...yeah my cars one fan turns on when it gets warm, then when it turns off the other does a few rotations. Ill try the AC thing.

Mine has done the same thing for many years. Don't worry about it.

Ha yea im not really worried, just didnt understand 2 fans but only one spins.

yeah the other is probably just the condenser fan. and if nothing is overheating it shouldnt be a prob

If your worried about it any, drive the car till it warms up. Then sit somewhere and don't move, watch your temperature gauge and see if it starts to overheat. Our cars heat up fast and will overheat fast. If it doesn't overheat then you are fine. I haven't noticed what you are talking about, but that is because my fans are hardwired into a switch(thanks to vfaq). Test won't work if your driving over 40mph, so if you do it make sure you are parked.
