I was just wondering if it would be possible to fit a RB26DETT motor into a 99 eclipse? I know it sounds crazy but a buddy of mine dropped a smallblock V8 into his and he got me wondering.

With proper fabrication, you could "shoehorn" anything under the hood. Make a project out of it and start a blog, i'm pretty sure you will have quite an audience.

I've seen a 1jz supra engine dropped into a 2g eclipse. I think I saw it on cardoman.com or something like that a long time ago. You'll have to search google for it. He had a lot of pictures on it and what he had to do to install it. I know its not the rb26 but they are basically the same size so it would probably work the same. If your buddy really dropped a smallblock v8 into an eclipse he could prob help you put the RB into an eclipse.

Fits perfectly. Make sure you put down some plastic, first, then some packing pads, and be careful to not slam the hatch down or you'll break the glass if it hits it. It might go more easily if you can learn to spell "engine", too.

Sweet jesus. Is everyone just stupid today?
