I looked for help in the forums already and have not found anything helpful. I'm installing new bushings in the rear control arms of my 95 Talon TSi and have run into a bit of a problem. The old bushings all pushed out fine(inner and outer metal rings and bushing). The problem I'm having now is installing the new bushings. I sanded the inside of the barrel that houses the bushing to make sure it's smooth and then lubed it up (with supplied lube from ES) and the bushing as well. I've tried installing the bushing without the metal insert first and then once with the metal insert in it but it does the same thing each time......balloons out in the middle and won't push through. Is there something I'm not doing right as the instructions aren't that specific. Pretty much says to press the old one out, clean and lube barrel, and press new ones in. I have triple checked and made sure that I'm using the correct bushing and have just come to a complete stand still. Looking to get these in this weekend and back on the car this week. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

You are doing the right thing.. And have the right idea.. You do not need the oem metal sleev that was originally there.. What I did for all mine in use a vise and just push them through. They will balloon on ya but just keep tightening them slowly. They'll go through..

I'll keep trying then...just didn't want to "blow out" the bushing and wasn't sure if it would or not.

UPDATE: Did it wihtout vice...bushing kicked sideways but it's flexible enough to straighten up and it will slide in the barrel thus allowing you to finish pressing it the rest of the way through. Done WITHOUT the metal sleeve in it. Hope this info helps anyone else that might run into this problem later. Thanks again for the help as well.
