This is the story:
One day I was driving my car and it started stuttering and finally just shut off (I replaced spark plugs and wires btw). After that I changed my battery and alternator because I discovered that power steering fluid was leaking onto the alternator, which killed it. The new alternator I bought was a 75amp alternator, but the guy said it was a 90amp, and I put it on. It worked ok, but when I pressed on the brake my headlights would flicker and my dash lights would also flicker. Power steering fluid also leaked onto this alternator and killed it (i'm guessing). I fixed the power steering leak. Then I bought a 90amp alternator and put it on, and now i'm having the same problem with the flickering, and my reminder buzzer sounds funky, and HVAC control lights dont come on. The car would turn on with the 90amp alternator, but would die shortly after, so I bought another new battery and i'm still getting the flickering of lights. The car starts up fine and everything and it didn't die and I drove it around for about 15 mins and it seems to be OK. Now i'm wondering if I get into my car tomorrow and start driving, will it die on me again? About 1 week before this dilemma, my ECU had leaky capacitors and there was a battery acid smell coming from it and the car bucked and jerked just the way it did with the alternator going bad. I got the ECU changed with new capacitors.
I'm thinking there is a short in my car somewhere, maybe caused by the ECU, or the ECU harness is fried. I'm really stumped here. Can anybody help me?
The car has: New 90amp alternator, new battery, new ecu with new caps. The car has not died yet, but still has flickering lights. What if the car dies again?
