my 1990 talon tsi will not start. The MPI fuse directly off the battery keeps popping. I noticed that on the number 2 injector clip the plastic surround was completly worn on the wires, and figured they were touching. So i took an injector clip off of my 2g (blown motor) and wired it in thinking that was the problem, turned the key on and the fuse popped again. So now i am confused and cant seem to find my wiring gremlin.
I had an afc on the car at one time, but not installed right now (had it in my 2g) and just used a piece of wire to reconnect the airflow signal wire to the ecu, could this be my issue?
Basically i am looking for some ideas on where to start looking as i need to get this car running to use as a daily driver.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
