Ill ask a few dsmers I know to see if they are down for the cook out. Might get this community a bit bigger. Networking amongst us is a big plus to help each other out.

Since i joined this site i always thought the paso community was lacking it, but over the years on being on the forums and meeting people here and there its quite populated.

Just less active on the forums.!,
 
well the first thing wrong with it is i still need parts LOL. infact i just shaved my head for a set of FIC 850cc injectors LOL. i love my hair (yes i know it sounds ###) and one of the guys that i was with getting my hair cut offered to buy them for me if i shaved my head..... im a car parts whore! so now my head it bald.... the second problem is im deployed in Afghanistan for now and waiting to get back to el paso some time in September LOL so i hope by then i have the parts together. 3 i gotta tear the car apart and put it back together again because what ever is possessing my car right now is evil.... like my super religious grandmother told me that my car is evil and wouldn't go with in 20 ft of it LOL. so i have a stage 1 6 bolt and a shep stage 3 trans waiting to get dropped in and about to buy my FP green to go with it. but then while the motor is out i need to sand it down and find some one in el paso that can paint good for a good price. (not macco) then after that is done put the car together and slowly realize how many parts i have forgotten to buy and how many stock parts im going to need to replace. so its going to be fun..... i will still throw a bbq even if i have to do it on my own but the evil car needs to get fixed and i need to get home and find a pot of gold LOL.

by chance does anyone happen to know a old priest and a young priest? i think ill start by an exorcism !

Do you normally do all your Motor assembly and disassembly? what are your plans for Linda Blare? LOL... Daily Driver or track car? im not much of a mechanic, but if you need a helper, let me know. id be glad to hand over the wrench or hold the tranny while bolting it on. I've been learning through this few years of owning a dsm. although I have a friend that now's this cars upside down and can be a great help as well.

who is Linda Blare? LOL this is my first turbo car so this will be my first turbo build so i havent done much of the motor work BUUUUT i did do a full motor swap on my mustang so we will see how it goes. its going to be my daily driver and a weekend track car. any help is always welcome
 
Bald head for some 850's? I'd take that, but I'd pony up the extra cash for some at least 1150's that that green will eat. I went with 1250's while they were on sale. Unfortunately, I've been holding off on my emissions testing to get what I consider a oil pressure problem fixed.

I prefer Magnus's method of doing it as you don't have to go through the PITA of modifying a front case. I junked one after 3 seconds of running, it's not a great feeling.... There's also some parts lists toward the end so you can piece most stuff together. I actually have a lot of the harder to find 1G parts just laying around. Hit me up if you see anything you need. I don't really keep wear and tears around tho. Actually I think I have most of it in some condition or another.

Lastly, Don't forget flywheel bolts, I NEVER reuse mine.
 
oh and i hope some one does electrical stuff because i dont..... im computer and electric dumb.... so ya any help on that front would be awesome.... i have a very short temper for that stuff LOL. like i get mad at power point all the time and want to throw government computers out the window.

but for real. ANY ONE that needs a good meal, a place to hang out, something to do, or anything else is more than welcome to come over and help me with this car. like im hoping to build an army of people to help me fix this car. it needs work ever where LOL. but yeah.... i hope it will be a beast when we are done!!!!!!!!!!

Are you going to run E85? or pump gas? whats your mod list?
 
well im going to be running pump gas because soon ill be going to Arizona some time next year and they dont have e85 where im going. so far all i got for parts are my car a 95 eclipse gsx, a fully built 450hp stage 1 motor, shep trans stage 3 transmission, FIC 850cc in the mail, FP manifold, Hks carbon titanium cat back exhaust, im buying a FP Green as soon as i get back and im going to be doing the 2gb bumper swap and paint and thats all i got going for me right now LOL.

as far as right now the car is trash.... i bought her as a rescue car because i sold my black gst to a guy that really wanted her and wanted to get a gsx. i found this car over near the bad part of sunland park and this guy trashed it out BAD. i got her for a steal and hated to see what was happening to her so i jumped on the chance and now im a in a little over my head LOL.

right now the car sits way too low, theres something that is grinding up front, something that sounds like a jingling sound that happens after the BOV hits and something evil that is messing with my electrical system. when i drive the faster i accelerate the brighter my dash lights get. my aftermarket gauges that came with the only work in reverse. i need a new speed sensor. i am pretty sure i need tie rod ends and some other front end parts. also pretty sure i need new front cv axels. and it needs paint bad!

the list of problems is always longer than the list of super epic stuff isnt it LOL.

By all means I'm down to help. The way I went about it after taking cues from Nate's car involves a lot of re-looming and soldering. At a minimum, I'd suggest getting the stuff to take the intake though upic off. I did mine once I had the head bolted back in and you can pretty much only see the injector connectors at first glance. If you haven't already removing the paperboard backing on the firewall helps a lot too. My engine bay paint was in pretty bad shape when I got the car. So I ended up spraying the whole bay, not anything I care to do ever again. But the results show more or less. At the bottom of the post I've put up a fairly recent pic of the engine bay.

im buying a FP Green as soon as i get back and im going to be doing the 2gb bumper swap and paint and thats all i got going for me right now LOL.

The FP Green (which one the XL or the regular one?) is could take a couple weeks at best. Mine took a month or so. One thing to consider is they don't just have these sitting on the shelf, they actually build them to order. Also you may want to consider ordering directly from them, my less than perfect situation left my with wastegate that was welded shut for a manifold wastegate vs. a open one for a MV-R gate.

Try 3 months after you buy your car you explode your radiator all over the 601... Then pull the head studs with a 1/2" ratchet... :ohdamn:

That sounds like a voltage regulator issue. When you get back I'd have Oreilly's or someone test the alternator

Gauges aren't wired the right way, probably tapped into the wrong wire thinking it's a parking light wire, easy fix. I Personally run mine off the rheostat, one of these days I might put in a fuse and a relay if I get froggy about it.
