So would any local DSMers be interested in Rallyxing if it was in El Paso?

As most of you guys know I've been racing in a rallyX series in Tucson all year and am having a blast. However the 10 hour round trip drive sucks and I am working with the Pan Am SCCA region to hopefully get a rallyX series started here by next year.

DSM's are naturals at this sport, primarily 1gs. N/T, turbo, AWD, it doesn't matter. You don't have to have an AWD as there are separate 2WD and AWD classes. The racing is on dirt so big power, especially on the FWD's is wasted. Thus N/T's to very well in the 2wd categories.

Don't think you need expensive mods or fancy suspension either. These are flat courses, no jumps. Stock suspension works just fine as does stiff suspension (obviously not slammed, ). Either way works. You can run on street tires, but snow tires or gravel tires are recommended if you want to be more competitive.

All I did to my car is get 15" wheels from the junkyard, got a used set of gravel tires, and made my own mud flaps. After a little practice I'm now leading the Modified 2wd class in Tucson with a car that had never even been on dirt before.

I think it's a good idea to do a joint DSM/EVO cookout like we did last year. That way we get two handfuls of people instead of just one.

dont feel bad i have only owned by gsx for 10 months and 9 of them have been spent in Afghanistan and the car dint run well at all when i got it .

but for real guys i should be getting home soon and if i could start getting an army of guys together i will buy a keg and any food you guys want if some people want to come over and work on my car with me that would be amazing cause when i get back i want to try to get her road worthy so i can stop bumming rides to work .
