I like your idea!

Sounds like a boost leak. How much vacuum is it pulling at idle? Same TB as before?

unfortunately no air compressor :( oh and forgot to tell you I swapped the power steering fluid out and put the ATF I Was SUPPOSED to put the first the and my pump works great now!

Well then even if you were to borrow a tester, you wouldn't get very far without the compresser air. I'll tell you what, I'll pm you my # and we'll see if we can work out a time when you can come by and we'll do a BLT in my garage (it will have to be after this month though because my car can't move at the moment). Of course you are going to replace the adjustment screw on your BOV first because that is going to be a big boost leak. If it is sucking air in under vacuum, it will be a big boost leak under pressure.

sounds great thanks! I just went to buy a screw for it got back the bov whistle and the fluttering sound is gone.

Good to hear! Is it running/idling better too?

When your engine is idling it is pulling vacuum, as in the engine is sucking in air. When you are under boost, the turbo is pressurizing air and forcing it into the engine. If the leak is bad enough that you can hear it sucking in air at vacuum, it will be blowing out even more air when it is under pressure (boost).

idle was fluctuating betweent 500 and 850 now its at a steady 900-1000! and yes i opened the hood and heard air getting sucked in it was that loud then i noticed the bov was making the hissing sound when i put my finger where the adjustment screw used to be it got sucked in quite a bit. I guess thats where the fluttering was coming from with no tension on the spring.

My talon has yet to be looked over by someone with alot of DSM experience so when I bring it over to you hopefully i can get it to run even better. On a side note I should be getting ahold of a 14b pretty soon and would like to swap the tiny t25 out!

That does sounds much more stable. I would try to lower your idle a little bit though if it will take it. The ISC is a stepper motor and can only control the idle from 750 +/- 100 (so 650-850). If it is higher then 850 then the ISC, even if it working properly, won't be able to hold it steady and you will get some fluctuation in your idle. You can also test your ISC to make sure that it is working by following this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/400883-need-new-isc.html#post152570600

Grabbed the keys and took it out really quick to get an accurate rpm fluctuation. Its more like 750 to 850 when im at a complete stop is that okay? The ISC is fairly new too so I couldnt figure why the idle was so bad I know now!

great! Just let me know when i can swing by and thanks for the help Nathan what side of town do u live on?

East. My car is all torn apart at the moment although I hoping to be done before February. Just waiting on a few goodies to arrive, including the paint gun, so I can finsih it up and start putting it back together.

let me know when you guys hang out, ill swing by as well since im a few blocks from nate, btw got the ap on the ms3 now, pulls like a freight train, can spin all way through second gear with traction control on LOL. gotta wait for cobb to verify it so i can setup my launch control tomorrow.

sounds good I am super annoyed right now I can't find the right size "T" to connect my boost gauge I finally got one and I can't put it on the hose it came with is dam tiny the hole matches the nipples from the different vacuum lines I'm so frustrated!

i have a few left over for when i did mine, i bought the assorted pack from pep boys just in case. And i typically run a tube that matches the vacuum lines and it usually fits over the part for the gauge as well.

i never use the parts that come in a boost gauge package
