EGR emissions solenoid same as Fuel Pressure solenoid?

My fuel pressure solenoid went bad, so instead of paying 80 for a new one i replaced it with a friends egr emissions solenoid...my CEL went away and all seems good. Are they the same thing?

Yes they are the same thing.They are just little electronic valves that open and, close when they get a signal from the ECU. :thumb:
