So my open port 2.0 cable came in the mail today, I hooked it up to my OBD port and my laptop, but when I go to read the ecu using ecuflash, it just says no vehicle interface. I must be missing something simple. The car is a 98 gst so the ecu should be flashable right? I hope I didn't waste my money on a cable that won't work with this car. Yes I have read the First Flashed DSM ECU thread, so no need to send me the link. Thanks for any help in advance.

Check your voltage at pin 16 and grounds at pin 4/5 on the OBD connector.
And make sure you have the proper drives for your cable installed.

You also have the mitsu reflash cable hooked up correct? Its a separate cable that plugs into the openport 2.0 in addition to the cable that hooks into the openport to your laptop.

Also like stated in the ecuflash thread did you pull out and open your ecu to check the pcb and/or the code on the board? If it doesnt match the numbers given in the ecuflash thread you wont be able to read or flash to the ecu.

Never expect a piece of hardware to work without the proper drivers.

Another quick question, so no need to open a new thread. When you go to the read from ecu option a list of cars pops up. Which one do I pick? Theres only 5 mitsubishi options and 4 of them are evos, the other one is 2006+ CAN vehicles, am I supposed to see a 98-99 eclipse option? Or do I choose one of the other ones. I tried clicking all of them but its getting an error message. Thanks for any advice.

There's an option for 99-something that I can't remember. I don't have my laptop handy, you said you tried all of them with no good read though? If that's the case then again something's wrong with your setup.

Edit:
I forgot to mention it's one of those options that works for my Evo ECU. I do not know which one to select for the H8. Apologies.

I kinda got a similar issue. Neither item I click works, I think I may have my drivers installed incorrectly or something..

I know this is an old thread but, I am having the same issue right now. I'm not sure which definition to load. Every one I have tried hasn't worked.

The log says there was an error loading a DLL file ... error loading FTD2XX.DLL

Make sure the key is in the ON position ... it's not like it popped up and told me or anything :banghead:

I am having the FTD2XX.dll problem
