ECU Swap help!!

I have a 99 gsx. I bought a eprom 95 ecu. I swapped the wires to 2 3 4 1. The car has a hard time starting, and it drives like crap! As far as I know, it should be a direct swap apposed from the wires. Any help would be great!

Im assuming you still have the 99 7 bolt engine with the Cam angle sensor on the left side of the head right ? the issue with using this 95 ecu is that '95 7 bolts had the cam angle sensor behind the intake cam gear. You will either have to revert to using that cas or use Dsmlink to invert the signal. You will have random misfires and the car will run like crap. I have read wiring pins at the ecu will have to be changed due to inversion of cam signal on 95 ecu. Heres a thread on plug wire swap and il check more later. Edit : ^^ You beat me to it bro, but if he does not have dsmlink, this will be a headache, if he does get it then its a check of a box option on the program.

Thank you very much for the help. I plan on getting link on taxes, so I will just put my old ecu back in till then. Thanks!
