Ecu had a heart attack today... car stalling. What can cause this?

I was driving to 7-11 today and everything seemed fine. After a left my house the car seemed like it was dragging (as if something was pulling the car back). I had to stop at a light and it just started stalling. I had to keep it at 4000 just to get to a parking lot. It seemed like a IC hose blew off. I checked everything and all seemed fine. The vac rading on the boost gauge was bouncing up and down when I would try to start the car and it would stall. When i revved it, it seemed like it would misfire ( a popping noise as it was running at about 3k). When i ran out of ideas I reset the ECU and the problem went away. It is still trying to stall, but thats becauase the fuel is not set yet in the ECU.

The only thing I can think about that caused this was that the datalogger cable was left in the OBD port without anything hooked up to it for about 5 days now, or the fact that one of the plug wires came off a little and I put it back on when i checked the plugs.

Thanks for the help

Anton, you will need to pull your ECU and inspect it to see if there is any scarring, abnormal things going on physically with your ECU. If you have a friend with a 2g handy, have him pull his ECU and try swapping it for a couple minutes. You will then see if the ECU is what is causing your problem.
