Alright heres the deal.

Recently rebuilt my motor (just got the car), has 600 miles on it. Every once in a while I will go to start my car, it turns over and fires up just fine, no weird sounds, then when I let the key go to the on position it just shuts off? Also, after that happens, It is like it thinks its still on, you can somtimes hear the injectors injecting with the car off...
(I have only noticed this when it has been hot and humid, maybe has happened 3 times)

Also, I have been having some really bad idle surges Idle may vary between 750 and 1500 or more. I have done a blt, and blocked off the egr trying to narrow it down. My thought is that if I try a different ECU the surges will maybe go away?

What do you guys think?

good news! I borrowed a buddies ECU and everything is well! I have not hooked up my logger but everything sounded a billion times better! Purr'd like a kitten! Maintained a 950-1000 rpm Idle(which I wanted)!

Gosh it feels good to get that outa the way!

Now I got that figured out Ill probibly pick up a different ecu. And while I wait, I will install my AGX/H&R combo I have been holding off on!

The only way your going to get that high an idle and still have a functional ISC is to get a EPROM ECU with a chip burned for it or DSMLink.

The factory idle speed is 750 RPM and you can't change it without driving the ISC out of range so the ECU can't bring the idle back down.

I just thought that 750 seemed really low going by "sound".

But that explains why every once in a while it would try droping it down eh? Thank you for that little tid bit. Since you mentioned DSMlink.... I was thinking of selling my SAFC 2 and eventually getting ECMlink v3 lite.

I know people frown uppon SAFC 2 so I probibly will just get answers saying DO IT, but has anyone here used LITE? Otherwise I would probibly get a chip burned since I need a new ecu anyways.
