ECU editing

Hey guys, I have recently been reading lots about editing your own ECU and I need some help. I already have a chip burner and my Galant has EPROM ECU, and instead of spending almost $600 on DSM link, I would very much like to edit my own ECU. So here go the questions:

Does anyone have or know where I can find:
Free software to aid me in this process
Stock 1g / Galant .bin files
EPROM addresses

Any of that would be helpful. I read up on this thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92224 and found a website that has code(s) for DSM's here:http://users.wpi.edu/~ktarry/dsmromedit.html However, this site does not work for me, seeing as how the thread it was originally posted on is almost 3 years old. Does anyone know where I could get my hands on these codes or any helpful hints before I start this process?
