Ebay sheet metal intake manifolds

Has anyone bought a manifold from this guy. How was the craftsmanship? How does it compare to others. The other manifold I have been looking at that is close to my price range is the Dejon. Anyone with experience with either of these manifolds or a very good experience with another that is right in the 4-500 dollar range, I would greatly appreciate your comments.

This always happen, But if the manifold had a magnus sticker on the top, Everyone would be ranting and raving how good it is even if it didn't have sheets to back it up. I'll buy the damn manifold and have the car dynoed once it gets put all back together.

The reason everyone knows the Magnus works is becasue THEY did a LOT of testing before putting it out on the market. Then after THEY did testing then many DSM owners gained HP and netted better times with just a mani swap. That is why the Magnus intake is talked about becasue it is proven, not just because of the name.


As far as the test goes what are we testing this manifold against. If it is a stock mani then I can tell you the results now. It will make more power. Test done. If you want to make an actual test then test it against other SMIM and see how this stack up against them. That boxy POS would make power over a stock mani most likely, but that is not what people are worried about, well at leats me.

My next mod will be a SMIM and for the money I would have to say the JM Fab. I really like the Magnus and they do perform awesome, but saving 200.00 with a JM is half way to cams. I just can't see spending that much money for a Magnus when everyone with a JM has done nothing but rave about.

Yes it will be tested by us as well. I just recived the cams for my car today and as soon as I have some spare time to throw them in it is off to the dyno. The dyno test will be stock vrs Bulldog. I would consider testing this against another competitors manifold as well but I can't obviously test them against everyones. Whose manifold would most people like to see this put up against? Again, I'm not sure if this will make the most power but I am positive it will make a lot of power for the money. Thanks!

Magnus is probably the best benchmark, since it has probably the best reputation and longest list of track and dyno results. Stock vs. your manifold vs. Magnus, if your manifold makes within 10 hp of Magnus it would be a big incentive for people to buy your manifold, considering the price difference.

If the thing tests out well, I might even buy one. I'm kind of with you in thinking that unless you're going for every last horsepower an intake manifold on a turbo car isn't rocket science. I've seen people make lots of power just by gutting their stock intakes turning them into empty boxes on Z31 300zxs, and by bolting on cheap copies of that weird ovoid Greddy intake manifold on sr20 cars, along with some fairly crude, boxy, but effective DIY intakes on some V8 sites.

the JMF smim Knock off sold on ebay doesnt fit!!!!!!!!!! i am in the process of installing it and it hits the brake resovior, cruise control box and the AC line. i am in the process of trying to resolve this issue with the vendor. But right now im fuccin pissed off!!!!!!

The JMFab has the same issues also, not just the knock-off. Most SMIM have some fitament issues with the brake resovior, cruise control and/or battery. Heres another thread with the same issue.

ok i am not trying to seem like a ass here or kick a dead dog in the face but hers a point. i bet this guy who is makeing a manifold would be willing to ship it to some one with a flow bench and let then numbers speak for them selfs. when makeing manifold or doing porting of any kind the only way to actually tell if it flows better is to put it on a flow bench. i will talk to my buddy that ownes his owne machine shop and i am sure he would be willing to do some tests compareing maginus,jm fab and bull dogs intake manifold but i am not rich and i cant afford to buy one of each but i can spend the time in testing if some one is willing to ship me one and let me have it for a couple weeks. But when doing that i would need a jm fab one and maginus one to! so if any one is interested in shipping it to me i can run some flow tests.

I'd much rather see dyno results than flowbench numbers. Flowbench numbers look good on paper but don't always translate into horsepower gains. Dyno a car with a 50-trim or larger turbo, preferably something in the scm61/gt35r range; proper supporting mods including dsmlink or a standalone and cams at least in the range of 272s, revving to at least 8500. Show us a 50 hp gain on a Magnus and a 40hp gain on the Bulldog mani and I'm sold, along with quite a few other people, if I had to guess.

If one flows 10 cfm more but the makes the same power then the flowbench test was basically useless. I don't use flow numbers to win races I use HP.

It was pretty dam cheap considering the price of Other intake manifolds. I only found 2 things that were at bit of a concern. The manifold to head mating surface needed to be machined, it wasnt flat at all had to cut about 40thousands off to get it flat . But hey it only cost me 25 bucks at carquest machine shop. The other thing is that It Deff has to be gasket matched other than that the Finish is pretty nice. The welds Look awesome and it looks very well built. So if you dont mind putting a little work into it, Is can save you quite a bit of money ..Thats just my 2 cents

the only thing i would worry about is the quality of the welds on it...wouldnt want to blow the welds on your intake...

Do you plan on hitting the dyno for a before and after? I would like to see some numbers on these

i also just bought the same 350 dollar ebay manifold and will be installing tomorow, my cars mods are a quite abit, 60 trim, comp 272 cams, bla bla ran high 11s around 117 on pump gas ... and on stock intake manifold so supposeably i should see a nice increase in power with this, i am installing bigger 880 injectors at same time (i was running 24 lbs of boost and running to high a duty cycles and to low a timing) but ill still be able to feel the difference, or at least hopefully, i know when i installed the cams it could of been the best upgrade and biggest hp gain with one mod ive ever felt, so im ecspecting the same results with this intake manifold...ill keep ya posted.
