ebay n1 exhaust

ive had a n1 style exhaust on my 98 eclipse gst for about a year now and it bolted up great and everything. then i installed a apexi down pipe so it doesnt have a cat converter. i would think my car would be kinda loud but its not. theres like this mesh in the exhaust (the actual muffler) kinda like a cat converter should i take all that stuff out to make it a lil louder? what do you guys think?

Its probably just the muffler style. Some are louder than others. I wouldnt go yanking that mesh out. You will probably not be happy. You might get a louder muffler but it might actually start rattling too.

Are you talking about the flex piece on the downpipe?
