If he doesn't mind having the 2.5" inlet and outlet, I would have to say that it looks good. Piping is another issue, though.

Tell him that a NPR is a great deal if you can find one for next to nothing, but you have to be careful that you watch your total investment. I ran an NPR till a couple days ago (sold before removal) when I decided to pull it in favor of another FMIC search. I only paid 5 bucks at a junkyard for mine since it was a little damaged on the one end when I bought it. I had a good bit of time invested in making sure that it was the proper size and sealed when I could have just gone to work and paid extra for on that was actually made for my car.

Another question:

If you had a 1G(or do have one) would you want a long skinny front mount or one with dimensions such as 31 by 12?

1g's don't have a very large air dam... You can put in a bigger intercooler, but after say 10 inches high all it does is kill airflow to the radiator. Depending on power goals, I'd shoot for like 25-30 inches long, 3 inches deep and max 10 inches high. That'd be good for probably 500+bhp imo. A lot of 1g'ers even go shorter and still push 400'ish hp fine. Myself, I ordered the JR ebay ic, 25x5.5x3 I believe cuz I don't plan on running bigger than my 16g and 20-22psi, should be great and easy fit.

hack up the air dam so you get more air flow, it increases efficacy and looks damn sexy :)
