eBay Catback doesn't bolt up..

I can bet your problem is the downpipe. I had the same issue. My downpipe was megan racing, and my catback was Speed N Run off of EBAY. U gotta mount the entire kit from the muffler up to the downpipe, if it dont connect then you gotta modify your downpipe, or replace the downpipe.

Forgot to mention make sure that the exhaust dont sit or touch any part of the car otherwise you will not like the driveability of the car. If the exhasut hits or sits on any part of the car, then it will vibrate, clunk when you shift, and will be very annoying.

Yeah I know I'm bitchin a lot but its very frustrating and I hate working under the car :banghead:

Anyway a trip to the muffler shop and $50 dollars later it fit perfectly. What it took was bending almost all the hangers with a huge prybar to get a nice fitment and he needed to reclock one of the flanges. He was able to adjust it pretty well so it doesn't touch anything. Now it fits like it should. So thats what I get for getting the cheapest catback on ebay, winded up costing as much as the other catbacks on eBay =P You never know what your gonna get with this Chinese stuff. The quality control standards aren't up to snuff with the Japanese or Americans for that matter.

Well after its all said and done I like it, it not superloud I wouldn't mind if it was a tad louder, my RS is much louder. Its not raspy also so thats good. Muffler look good pretty much the same as the one I had on there before. Like I said I will probably port out the muffler. It fits great now also. It may have been a problem with my downpipe but the whole exhaust was stock except for the muffler welded on. It took a lot of adjustment to get it to fit though and not to mention cutting welding. Also I'm glad its an overaxle type dealie because I have a suspension tech sway bar that hangs low. Also I like that its lighter than the stock exhaust. I didn't weigh it but when I put it on I could tell it was lighter. The flanges are kind of questionable whether their flat I probably should have checked but I guess it not as critical as the turbo or exhaust manifold. Oh yes I also measured some of the exhaust. It is a 2.7" ID and 3.0" OD all the way up until the muffler where the tip goes like 4" or something but necks down to less than 3" before the tip and of course it necks down to fit the stock cat. Other than that its a 3" catback.

Well I hope I'm a special case, I've been hearing a lotta good things about these catbacks just didn't work out too well for me.
