ebay 16g, wastegate at 20 psi!?

okay so i had midwest street performance re-do all vac. lines and boost leaks etc... I have a evo 3 16g on there..a ebay one that my friend gave me for free.

so i said heck, throw it on there its free and some people have luck with them.

Anyways, its hitting 20psi...not good. It hits fuel cut at 20 but still. I need to get it down. Dont say get a boost controller because how are you going to turn it down if thats what the wastegate is set at.

Should I get a open dump? I already have a 3in megan down pipe with apexi n1, no cat.

If its an ebay turbo the wastegate actuator arm should be adjustable. Just adjust it to set the wastegate pressure.

Im sure it is boost creep for the huge exhaust and the minimal amount that the flappers move. if you send me your wastegate actuator i can modified it to cure boost creep. but before that try to put the stock downpipe on so see if it helps.

but make sure it is boost creep.

if you are boosting less on the 3k to 5k and then soddenly starts creating more boost on the 6k to 7k range, it is boost creep.

Mine only crept in 3rd gear +, 1st and 2nd were fine, but i got an O2 housing with an atmospheric dump tube and the boost creep stopped. It gets kinds loud when the wastegate opens but it gets the job done.
