I recently did the swap but instead of going to the bone yard i was at o'reilly's and asked them and they said they wouldn't have it. Then i said "it's just a plug for a GM "CS" style alternator, then all the sudden they pointed me right to it :) Only 7 bucks too!!!!!!!

Can't go wrong, figured others doing the swap might like to know that.. I've also studied the alt enough to know that there's 2 other ways we can wire it and still have it work.. Now i'm just trying to find which one works best.

The third wire is actually a "sensing" wire that senses voltage at a remote location and adjusts the output accordingly...read my thread about it in the fab section, mine performs way better with it...The "F" wire is not even needed on out cars because the dummy light and resistance in it's wire is what triggers the alt...the "F" is for triggering without resistance, and yes they will sense internally but the alt will always see what it wants, by sensing at the junction block or accessory block hookup you will get more consistant voltage :)

ask me how i know :D

I went from only 12v at idle with everything on lights, radio, ac, defogger, wiipers, hazards etc,.... up to 14 and more at idle with the same conditions by hooking it up correctly... Google it on other places, this is the only place that suggests usuing the "F" wire all others say "S" and "L" only and that is a lot better way

the orielly numbers i'm not too sure of but here's what the box says

85854

Voltage Regulator Module socket (made by "Dorman" )

on the back it says "use with GM Regulators 1116411 and 1116408

Just walk in and ask for a pigtail for a GM "CS style alternator" They couldn't find it at myt store until i said "i just need one that plugs into a CS alternator"
