I've got to take my car back to Earl. I had it painted black, also. For a week or two it was nice. It's now been a little over a month and the front bumper is chipped to hell as well as the front part of the sideskirt. They didn't use a clearcoat or sanded it!

I got my car painted @ Earl Scheib. I paid 400 dollars for the Level 2. I am kind of dissapointed. I went from red to black. Anywho, they didn't even bother to sand my front bumper. So now it's chipped all to hell. I touch it up every now and then but it just chips too easily. Even on the body, the doors, near the edges of the windshield it's starting to chip. I should've known better, the damn painters looked like inmates.

Anywho, I wouldn't suggest an Earl paintjob to those of you who are picky on looks. I give it a 6 out of 10.

I had a truck that I got painted from them and they did an OK job. The only main problem I had was the front plastic bumper. Went through a automatic car wash and that thing was all chipped up. That and they don't listen well. "Don't paint the bedbox." What do they do? Paint the bedbox. Needless to say I chipped that all off.

Other than that the body wasn't bad and the clearcoat held up pretty good. A tad bit of fish eyes in the bed, but I didn't care.

trapspeed nice double post ROFL

i wouldnt reccomend anyone go to a paint shop like this if the paint is chipping off the bumpers that fast and easy. they must be doing something wrong. waste of 400 dollars if you ask me, and when you take it somewhere to get a real paint job, just more of a pain for them to clean up the old crap paint, not to mention they will charge you more to do so.

but then again Im the type of person who would pay the extra money to get my car painted the right way and proffessionally the first time.

but of course i also do my own painting so thats not a problem here

hey hey yeah i f you expect to pay cheap you go t to do some of the work yourself. If you look at my picture thread of paint job done or something about 97-99 conversion done under my name charles1 you will SEe my car how it came out. Mine was painted i go the 499 managers special i think it includes level 3 and clearcoat and so on 6 year warranty. mine is great smooth in texture and looks like a mirror finish. but i took this steps i got paint removerremoved the white stock paint and then sanded with 800 then fine sanded and wet sanded primered and wet sanded the car then i just took it to the shop . they painted and it came out so good they took 100 off and displayed my car for a week in front of their shop. and until this date the car has no chipped only one part has and thats cus i hit a curb doh! well hope this info help k
