Man, those look like the inspiration for the 2G talons ... at least the Jazz and the Optima do. Especially the Optima, looks like a 4-door white talon. Good find.

Thanks for sharing. ROFL

yeah the optima really looks like a talon. i read the dodge intrepid's body was based off this concept. It was supposed to have a 4.0 V8 under the hood w/ rwd.

While reading up on Eagle, i also found out that the 93 Eagle summit looked exactly like a mitsubishi mirage. Many of you probably already knew that but i found it to be interesting.

I believe the 1999 Eagle Vision was such a good looking car that Chrysler decided to refer to it as the 300M. Notice how it was the the only Chrysler model in the US with the amber turn signals in the rear?

Once the 3G Eclipse hit the market, they ditched the Avenger and called it the Stratus R/T. Funny how there was also a much sharper looking car called the Chrysler Sebring...

It's even got 2G Eclipse reverse lights.

Of course, this is all just speculation.

The Talon will be back. And it's going to be sweet. Just you wait and see.

yeah..wasn't the dodge stratus and the chrysler sebring supposed to be continuations like the 3g eclipse?

I think that "JAZZ" has potential, aside from the name. WTF does "Jazz" have to do with an eagle? They have to do better than that. Anyway, I would like to see "The Jazz" with a decent set of wheels on it. Would be nice if someone who posseses the skillz, to photoshop: Axis MOD 7 's ;)

That should change the look significantly.

that Vision Stretch looks like a 94 Concorde with a Buick front end.

dont hold your breath. it has as much a chance of coming back as a AWD 4g63 Production 4g Eclipse.

If it does, it will suffer the same fate the Eclipse has. They'll turn it into some slow ugly fwd piece of shit and market it towards high school girls. :notgood: I'd rather they just leave it alone and not bring it back.

OOh! Double quote action! Whammy!

I think the thing you fellas are forgetting is that DCX bailed out on bailing Mitsu out, so while the Eclipse might continue the downward sprial (think Ford Thunderbird), the Eagle brand still belongs to Chrysler, who is partnered with Daimler-Benz. This means, and I have felt this way for some time now, that there is a possibility that that DCX might just bring back the Eagle brand in the not-so-distant future with smaller Daimler platforms. That's right, the Talon might return as a RWD, 228hp V6-powered roadster. Check it out.

If the base model Benz roadster is in the mid-forties, I bet using the platform with a bit less refined trim level would result in a DCX product for the USDM in the mid-thirties. Right about what you'd expect to pay for a loaded Spyder these days, right?

Oh yeah, and that's a retractable hardtop. :thumb:

is this just an assumption or is there some sort of evidence that gives you this idea? if so, it'd be sweet!

The Jazz looks kind of cool, the Aerie looks like the front end of a saturn, the Optima has the front of a talon and the back end of a saturn.

ehm..sorry guys..remember..dcx already has a cheaper slk with lower trimlevel...208hp with rwd .. yes the Crossfire! its based on the slk..using the first gen slk 320 powertrain and other components.

notice ..short tail, loong hood ,wheels in back one size larger than up front..slk and crossfire..

the jazz kinda looks like the inspiration for the pt cruiser in a way

Damnit! There goes that theory. :(

Sto0pid Chrysler. Taking quality Eagle cars and badging them as Chryslers...

DC will bring back Desoto before they bring back Eagle.

Some old dude told me that the Eagle name was maintained as a stipulation of their AMC buyout. Anyone know if this is true?

I say we should get together and try and convince Mitsu in fixing the Eclipse problem by taking it back to its glory days and then we concentrate on Eagle and if that dont work i think we are screwed but if that did happen that would be sweeeeet:rocks:
oh and Eagle will never die:talon:

The Summits and Colts were the same as the Mirages, back to 89 I believe. I used to have a 92 Summit and under the hood there was the metal plate that said "DSM" on it!

what engine did the mirage/summit have in them?

I forget the specific name, but I had a 1.6, you could also get a turbo 1.6 I believe. I'm thinking there was one more, but can't really remember. But it was easy as alll hell to swap in the 4g63t
