Just wanted to let everyone know that they just built an E85 station on Joe Battle (Loop 375) and Pebble Hills on the East side. It's like $3.30 right now. I'm not using it but just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone is considering a switch. If you know of other E85 stations in EP go ahead a post them on here too.

This Might help some people in the area find a station...

Rule of thumb always call ahead to make sure they are still selling it or have it available

Texas E85 Stations

Also a couple NM ones a bit far but good to know.

I've been to that site before and there is nothing listed in El Paso (besides the one on Ft. Bliss). But there is one now :hellyeah:

You know, I've never seen the one that's on Bliss. But, I won't say I've ever looked either. ###### on the other side of the base from me.

I've heard theirs one in base but i went inside in biggs to fix a couple of cars and the only gas station i saw in there were not selling e85 i guess it was in bliss.....

quick noob question would it hurt to use e85 with no fuel upgrades ### wow the price 3.30 comparing it with 4.00-4.12 for premium it takes $63 to fill up our damm tanks

I just filled up at that station last night, but I didn't think to look at the time, I'll check it out next time I go by there. I didn't see a price for E85 there, so i don't know what the comparision for around town is.

As far as just running E85 straight up? I wouldn't do it on a stock Management system. The AFR for E85 is different and you would need larger injectors as well. People running who have lower duty cycles would most likely need the least amount of parts to change over (ie 880's and a 16G...)

You would need about 33% more fuel so make sure you have large enough injectors and fuel pump and a way to adjust your fuel tables.

Wow thats kinda sad, race gas is cheaper than normal gas.

Do you still get the same mpg on e85?

No...

But, overall cost is usually pretty close ($20 get's you just as far as on Gas your gauge just goes down quicker)Of course that's depending on your driving habits... ;)

I guess I hadn't updated this thread but I switched to E85 last week. I just filled up again yesterday and now it's only $3.11 a gallon. This stuff is amazing!! I went from running 5-12* timing advance at 10.5:1 AFR on 91 octane and getting knock on the track to 12-19* timing advance at 12.2:1 AFR with zero knock so far. I'm going to the track tomorrow so we'll see if it will actually produce results for me.

Isn't 12.2 like really really lean for e85? or are you running a mixture of gas and e85?

You can go 13:1 an won't see knock...(doesnt make more power) 11.8-12.5ish (High Boost)depending on the car seems to me to be the sweet spot too me an leaner in the lower boost areas...

Reviving this thread.
By any chance, have you seen any E85 stations on the West Side???

I guess the nearest one is the Quick Pick 5 at Las cruces about 30 miles west... Thanks.
