I am going to be replacing my 2Ga GSX front pass. wheel bearing and I have shopped till I dropped.

I have found these prices:
-$190.00 at Satan (Mitsu) I believe the part is actually a Timken Bearing assy with the Diamond star plastic wrapper.
-$145.00 at Satan (Eagle-Chrysler)- Timken again
-$90.00 at MAC-ebay- Has Timken part number
-$70.00 at Checker- Dynapak name but Timken part number

This is so confusing. Has anyone ever heard of Dynapak (other than a dyno manufacturer)?
Is there enough difference between a knock off and an OEM part when it comes to wheel bearings? I have a strong suspicion that there is one maufacturer for all of them and they just sell them under different names. I could care less if the packaging is correct, I just want to the job just once and forget about it. I already did the dr. side about a year ago with the Mitsu part.
I also found in a cross reference that this assemby fits about 15 other cars and vans, mostly Mitsu/Chrysler, and the dr. side is the same part number as the pass. side.

If anyone has some insight on any differences, it would be helpful.

I too am looking to replace my rear wheel bearings. Have you or anyone for this matter, got an update on this? I'd hate to have to spend full price!!

Yea, I happen to work there at the Graveyard, but we don't always have these in stock. I also want to buy new and not used. I got quoted a discounted price of $133 from Satan, but I am still looking to save some more money for a wheel bearing. I can't seem to find any alternatives out there.

I am looking for NEW wheel bearings, not used ones. Free used bearings isn't the answer that I am looking for. There are certain things I like to try to do once and do it right so I never have to do it again (for a while at least)

I am not too sure how to go about all that. And, let me correct myself, I am looking for the whole hub assembly, not just the bearing itself. So, a bearing supply co. wouldn't have the hub included as well, right?

right,

you can either spend 80$ for all the bearings and seals, and pay a Machine Shop an hours labor at 45$ an hour or so, to press it all together, and that leaves lots of downtime, or oyu can buy a complete unit ready to bolt up with fresh lugnuts for 140$ or so.

about the same, just buying the hub is simplier and faster.

I found that the Timken web page had the cross reference for the hub between all types of Chrysler's and mitsu's.

I ended up buying it from Advanced Auto Parts ($73.00) with newspaper coupon.
They also had the tools needed for rent/free. All i needed was the pickle fork, last time i had to press the spline shaft out with a 30 ton press.

Make sure to put some lube on the splines or some never-seize, when you replace it.

The one from Advance is made in China, and has a one year warranty. On the one from Satan, i couldn't find a origination stamp and it didn't have any warranty (or so the boob behind the counter said). Satan-Chrysler was much less than Satan-Mitsu on the identical part number.

The Chinese part was identical on the surface as the OEM Mitsu part. I will find out how long it lasts.

which one did you buy? the rear for a 2g GSX? also, did it come with studs? got a link to an online website for that part or even a part #?
