I have a 1g laser and Im trying to put a motorized flip out screen in it but my A/T shifter is in the way. Can I just take it off then cut the shaft about an inch then install an aftermarket one with overdrive? Has anyone else had this problem on the 1g. Does anyone have any pics of a screen in a 1g?

Thanks

thats funny . I have the same problem and same question , except for a 2g. That shift nob is huge and so in the way.

the auto tranny 2G knob is a problem, yes. try this. take out the vent on top in the middle or where the thermal controls are the hvac stuff. put the player in there and move the controls lower to where a deck normally goes. just a thought:thumb:

i mounted my screen a little towards the top of the opening and i cannot see it being in the way of a shifter. (i have manual though) one thing i noticed is that if the E-Brake is up, it does have issues with that being in the way

(yes i have trim piece for below the radio opening, just not on in that pic)

I have an in-dash dvd player, and it comes out just fine. Make sure its in your top slot of the double din and not the bottom.
