A buddy of mine is in the process of painting his SBC rx-7 Sublime Green Pearl, It looks awesome in person! Im suprised at how good all this stuff looks! Especially coming from Advance Auto. Its not done yet but they put some of the pieces on to see how it would look.

I used it on my integra and on my RX7. I was impressed with it all besides the clear.. It seemed to go on dry. I ended up using it for a "semi-gloss" look on both cars and I actually loved the way it turned out. I got numerous compliments on it.

Its the cheap paint. If you wetsand and buff yes it will shine. But a REAL automotive grade 2 part clear (if you lay it down halfway decent) will have great shine without wetsanding and buffing.

reviving a dead thread... The Primer is absolute garbage. Even after a 24 hour + cure time, a 2 part body filler (to finish up a dent) melted straight through the primer and ran like oil on water. Thought it was the filler I was using and switched to a 3M filler and still had the same result, 2 separate fillers, same issue? the primer is straight garbage. The price seems good, but its cheapness is shown in the end result.

I swear by duplicolr. Never gun painted always spray painted, but ill be gun painting my car for my first paint ever this year. I'm going to use paint shop paint to do it. Duplicolor has always seemed to me to be a little "forgiving " to those who may get just a little overeager from time to time. Wont be till the weather gets better obviously but ill post pics of my first ever gun paintjob when I'm done.

If you have a spray gun, don't waste your time with these duplicolor and rustoleum type paints. Just go buy some PPG Omni (you can buy the exact color, and they will ususally be able to mix you a batch as small as a half pint). The Omni clear can be sprayed on with an incredible shine right out of the gun, and the important thing is that this is polyurethane paint. That means it's impervious to UV rays, gasoline, bird crap, etc, etc... That enamel stuff they sell in auto parts stores will be dull in a couple years, and any body repairs underneath will be rusting through that stuff by then as well.

Yea I got the primer since it was $25 a pint and sprayed it on. I was just astonished how the filler just ate right through it.

As for paint and clear I went to Sherwin Williams and picked up a pint of paint and a 1/2 gal of clear. Should be decent stuff.
