Dunlop Vs ??

So far i've only had dunlop sp sport 8000's came on the car seemed to wear very well (even for sure) and i liked the traction though the wet traction was a bit less then desired since i live in Washington state....


Its time to buy new tires.. tirerack reviews almost all dunlops as a 80/20 people liking them

But their 30-50 bucks more then then other more popular brands...

I want similar traction and tires that will actually LAst a while on an allwheel drive dsm

dont want to buy tires twice a year

Suggestions?

Just eat it n get the dunlops i like

Or buy the cheaper ones?

My favs take into consideration road noise and comfert, dry traction, wear, and the ability to hold in wet(I'm not talking racing in wet or launching in wet, just the ability to drive normally without sliding all over the place)

BFG G-force KDW2 awsome but a little pricy and wear at a moderate rate. Nothing extreme but they don't last forever. they last longer than the 451s below

Falken 451s wear like crazy but the performance is hard to beat. You have to replace these about once a year-a year and a half if you drive normally and don't autox them.

Falken Azenis st115s are the SHIT but hard to get. I didn't want to wait a month for tires do I got the 512s installed today actually. (haven't used these by highly recommended by lots of my friends)

Falken 512s Awsome all around tire, great tread life and comfert and better traction than any other all season tire.

BFG G-force KDWS are great all season all around tire with good traction but the set I just had started falling apart. I don't know if it was a defect on the one tire or what.



These are just tires I've had experience with. Other greats that I've heard are pole postision s0-3 (expensive!) Azenis Sports(RS) (ASS in wet weather, can't even hold 70 mph in a stright line) or G-force KD (not for wet weather either.

My last recommendation is find somewhere else besides Tirerack. They're really expensive compaired to other online sources. edgeracing.com or vulcan tire are cheap. discounttiredirect.com has ok prices with free shipping. Edge racing is in FL so it sucks to pay $60 shipping for us west coast guys but their prices are half of what you would pay at Les Schwab for example.

Can't go wrong with the Azeni's.

Long as you drive sanely, they will not have a problem in WET weather.

On dry asphalt they are extremely fun.

You can usually get them for around 110-130 dollars each.

I'm real fond of my dunlops though their tread wear was very even
but they rate in at 106 per tire

Yep, those are the tires I ordered from Edgeracing at that price but they didn't have them at the time and I couldn't wait weeks to get them. Cancelled the order and got some Falken Ziex 512s instead. They do get a shipment of st115s on friday (or so I was told) so the wait wouldn't be as bad.

i have used yokohama tires from back in the day when they still made the a509, use the parada spec 2 on my car now. as long as you do not race in the rain (my car is set up f/dry weather, so it can be 'twitchy' in the wet), they are nice tire and awsome grip in the dry. they also wear real well (2 yrs on the first set). http://www.yokohamatire.com/TireFeatures.asp?TireID=17

You might want to go to 215s.

YES! I'll second that. I went from a 205/55 to a 215/55 and kinda wish I'd dropped to a 50 but I still love them and will never go back to a 205.

ah well i just checked the current on my car and their 225 50 z r16 so i suppose i'll be goin with 225 50 which raises the price somewhat hmm imagine that
