Can anyone give me any idea's on what they used for a dumptube for a external wastegate? I've got a Agp RS49 and Tial 38. Can I go to home depot and get some piping and just bend it and weld it on? Im just looking for any suggestions anyone might have. This is my first turbo upgrade so Im kinda new at this stuff. Thanks, Graham

you are going to need a flange first of all to go to your gate. Then from there you decide whether you want to dump it or weld it in to your down pipe

Yes, buy the flanges first. They are 1.5" I.D.

Heres what I did. I bought a 90* section of 1.5" piping from my local lanes automotive. You can order it online through jegs or other companies. I then cut it myself and used the bends in it to route it where I wanted it.

At the shootout this year I had noticed quite a few guys using some sort of flex pipe that you can more than likely pick up at your local parts store. It seemed to hold up pretty well for what it was being used to.

I just had a 1.5" stainless U bend cut and welded to direct the wastegate gases to exit below the oil pan. Make sure it's long and low so the extreme temperatures of the exhaust being shot out through there don't melt anything else under the hood. Just buy a flange and route the piping however you need to to get it to clear everything and be level with the bottom of your oil pan.

bah humbug with the clearing everything nonsense. Mine dumps before the pan a few inches.
