I'm currently dumping at the wastegate, I have a 3" cat less exhaust and was wandering if recirculating the exhaust would create back pressure or affect overall performance (I run at 35 psi).

I want to do this to attract less attention when on boost....

Just wanted to clear up some misinfo. Recirculating doesn't effect spool time because while the gate is closed, the turbo spools. And there will be mo4e exhaust pressure on the inlet side than the exhaust side. It can effect having issues with boost creep, but with a proper WG setup, this should be negligible

Thanks for the info !

Depending on the setup, it has been logged and proven that recirculating does indeed affect spool. As previously stated, it increases backpressure on the exhaust stream, causing the turbine wheel to spool slower.

OP, it seems like the boost controllabaility applies to certain turbos more than others. I know 20g's are really bad about creeping with recirc's.

it's going to increase turbo lag, by recirculating back into the exhaust. it will create a back pressure, small. not as mush as the turbo itself produces, should only be by around 500rpm more lag, depends from turbo to turbo.

says the guy with a n/t eclipse.... -.- :ohdamn:

I'm recirculated and not experiencing any boost creep with a 3" exhaust and s16G on 20psi

It affects transient response spool. (Boost recovery)

I was considering a recirc setup also for quiet reasons but with some other issues last season i was seeing a full second of boost recovery, and when going down the track thats terrible.

Ive also got a side exit now so the whole stealth thing was thrown outnthe window.

A softer BOV spring also helps with boost recovery.
