Dual zone radar sensor 508D

Has anyone used this added feature/part to their alarm system and how well did it perform? This dual zone radar sensor detects moving high density objects using RF field-disturbance technology.

I've never had an alarm on my car, BUT I've installed very many of these.

It comes with a microphone type meter that actually "hears" any type of disturbance in your cabin.

Apparently you havent. Your thinking of the glass sensor. This is a radar-type. IT is not worth the money more than a good motion sensor. If your in a crowded place or parking lot you will hate the alarm sensor.

well can you turn it off and on when ever you want right? i was planning on installing with cifford matrix rsx 3.5, i guess basicly the same as high end viper model.

Old thread but...

I have the glass sensor and the dual zone "proximity sensor".

The glass sensor works but you have to turn the sensitivity down. If you keep it on max, everytime it rains, the sensor will think of it as an attempt to break the glass and trip the alarm.

For the proximity sensor, it works well. The outer bubble gets old because every time someone goes near your car the key fob beeps and keeps beeping until you clear it (unless you park in a garage). Also when it rains, the sensor sees rain drops rolling down the window and triggers the warn on the alarm, or the alarm depending on how you set the inner bubble.

If it doesn't rain where you live and if you don't park in a crowded parking lot, they work fine. You can adjust to a way you like after you play with it a few times.
