I'm interested in the lo-hi dual stage MBC from dejon tool... just wondering how well these mechanical dual stage work, is it not worth it and might as well hold off to splurge on an electronic BC? I have just a regular turbo XS on that i'm not to thrilled with... well any recommendations or feedback is much appreciated :thumb:

I went from the standard turbo xs like you have to the lo-hi from dejon. It is works well though I have not actually used it when running at the track because I havn't hard mounted the switch yet.
If I had to do it again I would get the med-hi one though so you might want to look into that.

No experience with an EBC so I can't help you there.

-I'm very happy with my PRofec B combine with a steering wheel mount remote control to switch low/high.

The main goal of the lo-high system is for people with FWD cars who don't need all their boost in the lower gears because of a loss of traction. With the lo-high system you can set your boost at a low enough level that you can keep the throttle down and not spin loose and once you get into your higher hears where traction isn't as much and issue, you can switch over to the higher boost level and put all of your boosting ability to use.

I made my own dual stage by making two single boost controllers on one chunk of aluminum. I then got an electronic "Y" selector from a hydraulics company to separate the two and ran the wires into the cabin on a toggle switch. This way when I'm running around town I can run 14-15 psi and when someone decides they want a piece of me, I switch over and run 18 psi. Traction is not an issue since I'm AWD, but I noticed that it does save me some gas mileage.

yeah, just like the taboo diagram. Im making one so I can switch between boosts, one for racing one for daily driving. My version would only be lo-hi, while the one on the taboo site would be lo-med-hi. Thats the only difference.

You should be fine with a lo-hi setup. If you're really worried about having three levels of boost in your car, you're either OCD or your car has sooo much power that you'll actually need it.

The CORE Manual Boost Controller with ELECTRONIC BYPASS is a low-hi MBC. Does anyone think it would be worth buying? Here is a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2466156919 . Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Can you post the actual link to that CORE controller, I tried searching for it on ebay and couldn't find it. I don't know what people are getting confused about with the multi-stage boost controllers. The main thing you have to look at is quality of construction just like you do with a MBC. If some idiot is putting together some ACE copper pipe with a generic spring and ball, then you are going to have problems. Now if it's actually made by someone who understands what it's going to be used for and uses design cues from proven products then you are going to be fine.

I'll be honest and say that I've never been a fan of the EBC systems. I have trouble trusting an electric signal to control the boost that could blow up my motor. I'd much rather have an actual physical resistor in there like a ball and spring setup that I designed myself. That way if it fails, I only have myself to blame and if it works perfectly, I get to take all the credit.
