Well the 2008 - 2009 Grand Bayou Race Series got off and running this past weekend. Loads of fun and loads of headaches to go along with the fun. All kinds of issues came up and were overcome with some help fom fellow racers. Read all about it HERE in my blog.

Pictures soon to come.

p.s. - Under steer is a very, VERY bad thing in road racing OMGLOL:D

Congrats on the win.

Sounds like you had some interesting races. Get those coil overs and those BMW's wont stand a chance :sneaky:.

Thank you. It was a VERY intersting race to say the least. Ground Control Coil Overs will be ordered today. Just trying to figure out what spring rates to go with.

I'd love to give you some tips on spring rates, but I've never worked with the 2g chassis before.

I actually prefer my car a little loose and if I keep it I'll probably turn up the rear bar and add a front bar to help keep it more level. The nice thing about fwd is that if the rear starts dancing you can floor the throttle to transfer weight back onto it and keep it back in line.

Yeah, it is nice to be able to just throttle through a "dancing" rear end :D I went with 650 lbs (front) and 350 lbs (rear) for right now. Different springs will not be that hard to find if I need to raise or lower the rates. I am starting here after some discussion with Ground Control about what I am doing and what the car is/is not doing as well. Anything will be better than what it is now man. I believe I am going to try and get the rear RM Sway bar sometime next week as well. Funding; as always, is the key role in that happening or not.

Well, the coil-overs are on and I am going to get the car later this afternoon. I'll take some pics of the new setup tonight and post them up on here. Hopefully next month I can get the rear RM sway bar to throw on there to round out the new suspension setup.

I still have some tweaking/tuning to do with the AFC and Boost Control. One bad thing that happened again is the "fix" we did at the track last month to the O2 housing to downpipe conection failed so I had to get some OEM studs and bolts from Mitsu to fix the awful exhaust leak there. Hopefully that is the reason the car ran so bad at the end of the event. I was getting some boost creep in 3rd gear (high RPM). It would go to almost 20 psi around 6700 - 6900, so maybe playing with the set and the gain to see if I can get that under control. Still a work in progress but hey, its racing right :D

One cure to the boost creep is to just run 20 psi all the time. I would think with race gas, 20 psi should be safe.

Also, where are the pictures from the track event?!?!

20 PSI on the track I run is not necessary. It's almost too much as I would not get to use the power except on the front straight. 15-17 is about right for this track to me. No other turbo cars are really running more than that.

Pics are not my deal, sorry to say. I do not take them (obviously) so whenever the photo people post them, I will post them up on here. I was getting on them pretty hard about them and they said "they're coming, they're coming". But no one has yet to see any of them.

manageable oversteer is your friend!

Congrats sir!

Thank you and Yes it is. All I am hoping is that the understeer is now gone. It was like driving a dump tuck on rails Marti  No fun at all. Hopefully, the coil-overs will cure this. We will find out on Saturday morning though :D:D

Ok, so the new Ground COntrol coil overs are on and ready (almost) to go. Still need some ride height adjustments but I am going to get as close as I can and then do some more tweaking at the track on Saturday's practice sessions. Interesting how they went on...The Ground Control instructions were pretty....lets say vague. So there was some time spent trying to figure out exactly how and what to do and use. Took the car around the streets a little last night and it felt really good. But, its not the track I know. Still, it stayed very flat any corner I took. Cant wait to see how this helps out the tremendous understeer issues I was having last round of the series. None the less, here are the pics.
