Looks like we will have a good turn out. Anyone have any special goals to reach at the track? I'm looking for high 11's.

If my transmission goes in ok and is shifting good by then, i'm hoping for < 12.75 (14b on 18 psi with low compression 100-110 across the board).
A little paint work i did today. Looks better under the light when you can see the clear coats i added. Hopefully it shifts ok. :coy:

Well I wont be able to make it. Ran into a snag with puttin my other trans in. The "bell housing" has a crack and I dont have a welder. So good luck to the ones that are planing on runnin that day.

I got a buddy that has a mig with an aluminum spool. We could weld it up for ya.

Yeah i just put in my other trans yesterday and now my shift cable is not retracting. What the hell people. I really need to get this fixed before the race.

the last 2 times i swaped trans,, ### i do it like everyother week on mine,,, i had to play with the bracket that holds the 2 cables (attaches to to the bell housing) to make everything shift right,,,2 person job,, one in car moving shifter one with a nice size flat head tweeking bracket back and forth looking for the "sweet spot"

You wouldnt happen to have a set of slicks lying around would ya? :D

no sorry, I do have some old 3000gt base wheels with decent tires though that we actually used to put on my friends GST to run because they were a little wider and so he didnt kill his everyday tires.

what do u mean not retracting? you think somethings binding up inside the trans?

The shift cable that controls the side to side motion of the shifter would not pull towards the rear of the trans. We found out the I bent the shift cable with my pry bar when i was prying down on the cable in order to remove the shift cable retaining clip from the bracket that bolts to the bell housing. It's bent back and retracts back in, but not good as new though. Woops. :ohdamn:

WOW, good to know, this is the best thing to ever hear when going to race a DSM!

Haha atleast thats all it was. coulda been a lot worse. so are you runnin next weekend now??

I have only taken the car around the block with the new trans so far. The down pipe is rubbing my drive shaft so i have to adjust it today. I did have a chance to go in and out of all the gears though, but i haven't shifted it over 2000 rpms yet so I'm still not completely sure how the trans will do. Once i move the exhaust (adjustable test pipe flange; spins freely around the 3" pipe) i'll put a few miles on the car and give the trans a good run through. I may have to adjust the one shift cable i was playing with to. If the trans shifts good up to 7000 rpms then i will definitely be racing. I just have to get some tools together, get some C-16 from my boss and go pick up the trailer Saturday morning. Either way i'll be there, but I really want to see what this stock turbo monster will do with some cold air. I hope nothing is wrong with this trans. I just spent $84 on the EVO MR gear oil that everyone keeps raving about. If i have to drain that out i will kick my self in the nuts.
