I adjusted my launch to be at 5200rpm. Is it save to hit full throttle and stay at full throttle for a couple of seconds (when racing for example) at this range? Or is there the danger of overheating and blowing the engine as hitting full throttle on 7000rpm (red line)?

The point of the launch RPM is to hold the RPM at what ever you set it to, 5200, so you can launch at that RPM.

Once the car starts moving then the actual rev limiter is what will stop the motor from over revving. In either situation you don't want to keep banging off either one for an extended period of time. I would say maybe 5 seconds max.

I know it's purpose is to keep the rpms up there. I was only wondering if it will damage my engine in any way if I keep my rpms up there (giving full throttle) for a long time (when racing from a dig for example; before the light turns green)
