I recieved my ecu from DSMlink today and installed it back into my 90 tsi awd and now the car runs like crap, when i had sent them the ECU it had code 0044 ignition circuit malfunction which i had narrowed down to a bad connection on one of the pins inside. i installed a 91 ecu while mine was being repaired and did the 14 and 6 pinout swap and the car ran just fine for weeks. but now that i put mine back in it has surging throttle response and throwing codes 0014 TPS circuit malfunction and 0025 Barometric pressure circuit malfunction.
WHY???? I can put my 91 back in and again it runs just fine???
I have searched everything and as usual everyone has had the issue but nobody ever posts a solution!!!
I am hoping that it is something simple and i dont believe the issue is the ECU since i just got it back from repairs.
all help is greatly appreciated I am supposed to be going to a big carshow over the weekend and would love to take my car

I was thinking the pins were still swapped still too. But if you did fix them did you check the base settings like what maf you are running.

sorry for not replying, the problem was somewhere in the car, I sent the ecu back and they tested it in there car and had no issues. I have since sold my 90 and bought a 97 TSI AWD with a 6 bolt swap and I plan on using the ECU in this car now but have run into another issue as I cannot find the connector port to plug my laptop in and tune it properly.

Oh wow, so you ditched the 1G and picked up a 2G. Nice. I love the pop up head light look man. What were you thinking? LOL. Just kiddin, so your having trouble finding the OBD2 plug in? Its under the dash kick pannel. The OBD2 port can "un-click" out of its plastic lil holder spot. Maybe your plug in is stuffed further into the underside.

On my 2G, I have DSMLINK V3 and my laptop cord is always plugged into the car. Ill never need to unplug it to put in a scan tool as my laptop doubles for a scan tool so on my OBD2 port I unclipped it from its factory holder position and stuffed it way up into the under side of my dash.

Maybe the PO did that same trick?

Ya i looked around it was stuffed in behind the center console, my 2g has a 1990 6 bolt swap, if it didn't i would not have switched. I should get my ecu back from ecmlink anyway it has the v3 installed so i Will finally be able to tune it properly cause at the moment she's running a bit rough after 4000 rpm.
