To DSMLink users and Forum users,

I am in my Senior year of college and I need to do some sort of Project. My idea is to get some sort of feedback from ECM tuning, the creators of DSMLink and to ask what direction they plan on going with the new versions of DSMLink. I understand that there are already discussions about newer versions, minor and major enhancements, but I would like to use a new thread so I can have documentation.

I'm looking to modify DSMLink currently(Java) I'm going to keep the language it is written in but I want to add to it. I don't have the knowledge of machine code or means of communicating with the ECU, so this Program will be for show and mainly design.

I'm looking for input from the people who have used DSMlink and I want to know what you guys would like to see in the future as extra features or somethings you would like to change to help benefit the DSM community. I'm not looking for any type of recognition or money, but just something I enjoy and something I can do my project on. Please feel free to leave ideas because I will be checking this thread daily and I will be using it as documentation for my project. Thanks again guys, I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that would love to give their thoughts.

Matt

You may want to contact Thomas Dorris at ECMTuning on the legality of what you are wanting to do. There is a list of what is expected to be on the V3 floating around someone on here, you could do a search and see what you can find. As for extra features, I vote for built-in MAFT and ability to go with a speed density setup.

I've allready posted on the DSMLink forums and Thomas and others have no problem with what I'm doing. Obviously I'll be doing some searching through the archives to hear peoples input. I just want a more up to date source that i can hear opinions and print out peoples ideas to use as documentation for my project.

Thanks

speed density and a switch for flex fuel.

bonus if you could get it to work with a GM flex fuel sensor.

Compare calculated fuel/air ratio from injector duty cycle, RPM and air flow with measured fuel/air ratio from a wideband and output the difference as an indication of a boost leak.
