I want to buy a chip for my eprom ecu I was looking at dsmchips.com and I really like the stage 3 but I don't have my safc II no more. Would it be a bad Idea getting it?? Would the car be a little tune with the help of the chip. This check my profile for my current mods :thumb: Thanks

Yes it is worth it.It elimainates the poping sound during decel (unburnt fuel).I love the fact that they extend the closed loop to 5K.Nothing like letting the ECU keep the gas milage in check at 80 MPH.You would like to have the Safc handy to clean up the air fuel. But it's not really needed.

alright man thanks for the info I think I will be ordering a dsmchip and i'll get another safc II to fine tune it :thumb:

Yup, definitely worth it, especially when you have them pre-program a leaner A/F into your chip. Makes tuning much easier.

Let us know how you like it,

Andy

Another quick question Is there a way to block off my egr and atleast some of my vaccum lines witho out having bad idle or the without the car running bad. Would the chip help in any way??

The chip would be unaffected by an EGR blockoff or anything related to vacuum lines as it can only be used to set the idle, however it will not correct for anything related to idle. I can't answer as to whether the EGR blockoff or vacuum line removal is a good idea.

Cheers,

Andy

i run no egr and none of the emissions vacuum lines with no problems, and it passed the dyno emissions here

what's your definition of a weird idle? It idles at 1100 when cold then drops to 750-800 and stays there. No stalling, sputtering, etc. It used to surge but that was from a bad IAC.
