DSM meet laws

I will be holding a dsm meet and i want to make sure there is no laws against it. besides the obvious laws. I want to make sure cause i dont want to hold a meet and bbq and get it crashed by the police

I am pretty sure there is none but i want this meet to be ok

You can call the police department and let them know what you are planning and that you don't want racing or anything to go down. They'd be a lot less likely to hassle you if you simply let them know. I mean how stupid would you have to be to tell them what you are planning then set up races? They know that and would probably only send one patrol car to go by real quick to see whats up.

They will also let you know the laws.

Contact your local city hall, they can answer these questions better than anyone of us here.

If you hold it at a Public place IE: a Park
You will probably need
1. Permit
2. someone to provide security, and cleanup
3. Insurance

They can give you more info on that at the Hall.

Your other options are, find a Private location Preferably with alot of land. that way no permits are needed, and as long as nobody complains about noise, the cops shouldn't bother you.

well we wont be using a park. only a parking lot near a bay. and the only thing that will be happining on the park is a BBQ but i can do clean up on that. I will deffinatly contact the department and find out.

If it's Publicly owned land, the city hall will help you out more than the PD.
Since if the PD shows up they'll want to see a permit, which is issued by the city

The City may even refer you to their Parks and Rec. department and issue you a condional 1 day use permit, which is a common thing to get.

I have never had any issues at all with Mitsubishi or Nissan meets. I simply call a local state park, reserve a pinic area, thats it..... Nothing special.

Shit, we (about 7 of us) meet at a target at 8 on Thursday nights. The police/sheriff officers stay in the far right corner every week. NO issues at all. We dont rev, burnout, race around. Just bs for a few hours.

Just make sure everyone behave...no burnouts, racing, fights and you should be ok...have a good time.

It would be fun to have a meet at a local drag strip. I live near the bristol motor speedway and they have streetfights it's $5.00 to watch and $10.00 to run. Hey then racing, burnouts NO cops NO permits NO clean up.. Just throwing it out there.

Jeez. Is Idaho that bad you have to be concerned with this stuff? Here the local honda-tards gather at carls jr like every friday and they dont get in trouble.
