Hey, I have a couple questions. I searched but can't find all of the answers. In california, So-cal, is it illegal to have anything interior modded? Like, Tach, Boost guages, Laptop, water temp guage, racing steering wheel, sparco seats.... ect... is any of the interior modifications illegal in california? What about Exterior. I dont know all the laws. Is there a rim size limit? I know that the headlights have to be a certain height off the ground. Can I mod the tail lights with altezzas? Spoiler laws? I know that injen makes a Legal CAI, but what else is illegal? Can you have any exhaust part at all? Down pipe? Muffler? Just wondering, thanks for the replys.

Well, you'll definetly get a lot of attention with all that on your car (when you get one), and you could find out the hard way whether that stuff was illegal or not. Your best bet would be to take these questions down to your local police station and ask someone that enforcers the laws.

As a general rule, exhaust parts are illegal. Anything that alters the flow of air or combustion is illegal with out a CARB sticker.

The "without a CARB sticker" part is the important thing to take out of this. And no, don't ask a Cop, the generally actually KNOW very little about the laws they're intended to inforce. Use the actual law on the books, not what some guy who learned how to write a ticket tells you. I don't know how many cops I've had to correct on their "knowledge" of the law. that's why I take my tickets to court... and win
