Unless you want some old guy working on your car that dose not care about performance or dsm's. Go to Kris I've been with him for hours while he's put my engine back together and the attention to detail that he goes true on his work is admirable. unless you go to one of the big shops with deep pockets(and be care full with that those guys because they are lost sometimes too). you wont find abettor dsm mechanic in San Diego. and knowledge wise its hard to find someone who knows more.
he is a C-130 mechanic in the real world. so imagine what he could do with a 4G63.

I just met this guy a few days ago and I gotta give him mad props. He helped me swap out my evoIII manifold for a FP manifold very quickly and replaced my broken power steering pump pressure switch with one of his own without me even asking. Afterwards we went to RaceLegal at Qualcomm and meet more great DSMers.

Kris is truly a personal mechanic and awesome friend. He has a plethora of knowledge, experience and does excellent work.

Quick voucher for Banishedmunks work. Ive been watching him do anything and everything to DSMs for a long time, dating back to our Cherry Point, NC days when I still have my automatic 92 TSI AWD....he will definitely make your car right, nomatter the issue.
 
Ok so mad props to Kris...met up with him today and definately recommend that if you need any help you hit him up. He knows his stuff and can totaly get it done for you...thanks a lot man.

Where do you stay at I am interested in seeing if you can help me?

I bought my 1991 galant vr4 in november and haven't gotten it to idle or boost right since

I've been doing a BLT everyday and have only fixed the compressor outlet gasket,and tightened some couplers up also the gauge on the blt will never go over 0 so air is just rushing out everywhere and my soapy bubbles can't find anything neither can I.

How much do you charge per hour .....or how do you assess the payment?
 
ok i have a problem and would like to know wht is wrong with it. everytime i drive my eclipse, say 10 miles steam or wht looks like steam starts coming through thw vents in my car and fogs up the windows its been a pain in the a$$ . thanks for the help

I think your heater core busted it happend in my camaro and in my ford escort.
Tommarow I'll be getting the two coolant lines that go passed the firewall and connecting those to each other so it stops fogging my windsheild and dumping coolant all inside the passenger floor

Idk if that's your problem just a suggestion
 
Hey Kris,
Can you let me know when you have time for another fix? This time I need some troubleshooting. Replaced ISC motor because the resistance on the pins showed it was bad and had stalling issues.

That fixed the issue but now I have idle surge between 1600-1900 rpm ONLY when coasting in neutral. Once I come to a stop, it only surges once or twice more and then comes back down and idles fine.
 
Did you replace the isc oring?

Nope, didn't even think about that, I saw the o-ring in there and it looked fine. Think this would cause idle surge only when the car is rolling though? I mean literally if the car is moving even 1mph, it surges and then stops once the car stops moving.
 
kris is great mechanic, great guy and really knows our cars, kris not only did my timming job but he went out of his way to teach me how to do it for next time(i did mine the first time and bent 10 valves). kris is a great tunner and i recomend him to anyone who would need work done on there car. wanted to add a few things

currently working on getting all the pieces together to offer cam degreeing and powdercoating. along with aquiring a hydraulic press to do many useless things like bushings and wheel bearings or coke can crushing.

we just got a media blaster :rocks:goodbuds:hellyeah: so I will be offering media blasting of manythings. if it fits in the cabinet then ill do it. pricing is a piece by piece basis

any form of maintenance that is done will be $50.00 per hour plus whatever parts are needed. All parts will be OEM unless deemed otherwise by owner.

troubleshooting is a flat rate unless otherwise discussed. this will include Boost leak test, compression test, and timing verification.

once again my number is 252-626-7533 anytime between 8am - 10pm.
 
I also have to vouch for Kris, he is a GOD among MEN when it comes to working on DSM's

Went to him for a head rebuild, and walked out with so much more. Will hopefully go to no one else but Kris... Will be making a post with pics about rebuild also
