OK i Finally got the motor in the car ( 2.0 6 bolt with bc 280 cams and all supporting mods) Well the car idles great at 1000rpms ( where i got dsm link set) up to about 180 degrees. well when the car gets up to 210 degrees operation temp. it does not want to idle at all it just stumbles then dies. Once i can get it to half way idle i tried using the biss to adj it and it works for a few sec. then it dies off again. I was talking to someone at the other day and being Im using a Magnus heat barrier gasket that when it gets hott it could be expanding causing a leak. I boost leak tested it and it is has no leaks when cold. I dunno about at operating temp. So what do yall think is going one.

Could be the thermostat sticking or the like. Make sure you have enough coolant, and do a boost leak test after it's warmed up.

Question.... What supporting mods do you need to run 280 cams? hahahaha..(answer is none)

Anyways its your coolant temp sensor. Same sheet just happened to me.

temp sensor is working correctly. i compared it to my auto meter gauge which is in the thermostat housing also

Mods are 2.0 6 bolt manley springs/retainers bc280s, rc1000 injectors, dsmlink v3, t61 divided housing, tre built trans with limited slip, megan racing 3 in dp back, custom 3 in downpipe (v band) 304 stainless , vrspeed fmic, tial 38mm wategate. Im probly forgettin stuff but you get the idea.

What exactly is the reasoning behing the coolant temp sensor being bad when it read all the time at accurate temp as compared to my autometer tmep gauge which is less than 1/2 inch away from the factory coolant temp sensor.

Any Idea?
