ok i have been hear soon clunking sound on my front driver side when i go over bumps. i took off my wheel and look at the ball joints and they look like there in good shape. the dont move up or down. so i looked at the outer tierod that is connected to the stiring arm(knuckle) i move the the rotor left to right and it move a bit left to right and clunks whenit stops. i can tell that the tierod join is lose maybe? can anyone help on how to fix that ? will i have to replace the tie rod?.. get back..

You sure its your tie rods? Break the tie rod end loose from the knuckle and physically see if its loose. Up and down movement means nothing. Side to side movement means you have a bad tie rod. Check the nuts holding the lower control arm ball joints, if those are loose those can cause some clunking/clicking.

the tie rod doesnt move up and down it moves left to right . when i move the knuckle the ball joint moves left to right. it seems as the ball joint is worning out. the knuckle isnt suppose to have free play?clunk clunk?
