i just got the drift kit for a 92 eclipse from AIT and it seems as if the side skirts dont really fit up to well... if anyone could give me tips for mounting front/back/sides it would be great..

thanks in advance...

first, if you dont have any experience with doing fiberglassing and custom bracket making work, your going to have some trouble with installing it

with that out of the way, the front SHOULD bolt up pretty muchly in the same spots where your old bumper was. You will most likly need to either remove, or cut/modify the metal bumper support to fit the bumper over it. i cut mine to make it fit, but kept the metal bumper in their for support and safety

the back should also bolt where the original bumper was. on mine, we had to move the metal bumper support down to make the kit sit against the car correctly, again, some people remove it, but im not into doing stuff like that

the sides, you will need to make some brackets to hold the center of it to the car. both ends can be screwed/bolted/pop-riveted to the body, but in the center there needs to be some support too. so make some brackets, bolt them in place to hold the skirt in place.

if any of the parts are too long/wide/narrow, custom fiberglassing work will need to be done. at that point, if you dont know what your doing, i would suggest finding a body shop

not to be an @$$ but a general rule in body kit installation is, "if you have to ask how to or how hard it is to install a kit, you probably can't do it yourself."

good luck

i can definantly do the bracket fabrication and fiberglassing is pretty easy since i've done it on many other cars... for some reason the side skirts just look as if they weren't meant for the car but that was just at a quick glance... thanks for the advice...

Have fun. The front and rear bumpers should fit pretty well but the side skirts my be a little shaky. My buddy put the drift kit on his 90 tsi and just used pop rivets on the side skirts to hold them in place. He placed some rivets inside the door were the lip comes up and meets the doorsill. If you would like i can get some pics from him and let you take a look at them. Just let me know. My email does not work any more so just leave me a message. :laser:
