Double synchro second...FWD?

Hey guys quick question. I have a 1997 eclipse gst and some teeth went on my second gear. My question is, what years if any of the FWD dsms came with a stock double synchro second. I am pretty sure the awd drive models came with them 93+ I think. Also, I bought this transmission as a TRE Stage 3 transmission from a member so what is the difference between TRE's double synchro second and the stock double synchro second?

From having my fiances trans rebuilt by a dsm shop the 2g AWD trannys came factory with a double synchro 2nd. I think the same goes for a FWD as well. The main difference would be if your trans did not have that style gearset and it was upgraded to it. the difference between a tre 2nd gear and factory 2nd gearwould be that tre would use the most updated version of that gearset as well as any heat treatments or clearencing that tre would do to it "to there specs".

Ok thanks for the info...I am debating if I should just get an entire spare tranny or order the gear from tre. It would basically be the same price. If anyone can confirm that the 2g FWD transmissions came with the 2nd gear double synchroed, I would appreciate it.

yes 2gs all come with fwd or awd turbo. the 1g tranies are stronger due to the fact that hub is stronger then the 2g
