Alright so I have done quite the searching and I am pretty sure I have figured out the correct answer but I would just like to get a double check by you suspension gurus so I don't end up spending money on somethat that won't work. Alright during my search it seemed that if you ran a 17x8 with a +35 offset on a 2g with a tire at 225 or wider you would have to roll the fender flange as wret liked to call it. This is all clear to me and i have no problem doing this to my car. However, I am looking at rims currently that are 17x7.5 with a +35 offset and I plan on running some 225/45/17 tires front and back. I would run wider but these are just my street wheels and 225 is the widest drag radial they make that would even possibly fit under out fenders(next size up is 275 then 315).
So my question is if I ran 225/45/17 tires on a 17x7.5 wheel with a +35 offset would they clear the fender if I roled the fender flange? and would they sit flush with the fender or stick out past them? These are going to be strictly used for the street as I have a set of slicks for the track and I plan on putting race tires on my stock rims for any autox days I attend. I want to make sure the rims I have picked out won't rub horribly even after rolling the fenders and also won't stick out past the fenders when the car is brought back down off the jackstands. The car is currently lowered about 1.5" at most and I don't plan on going anylower. thanks in advance.
