I have seen a few older threads that were in the ballpark of answering my questions, but not specific enough for me to be comfortable with the responses. So I did search some before making a new topic in the noob forum.
A little background about my DSM project is that I own a 1995 TSI FWD that I am in need of at least one, if not both doors due to the fact that one of them has already been bondo'd and both are banged and dented quite a bit past the point of dent wizard repair.
Bottom-line, I need two doors and I had some questions about swapping doors. I currently have automatic door locks, windows, and mirrors. I could care less about power acsessories and would honestly prefer manual eveything. That being said, I do not want to use two keys for one car and I want to be able to find matching manual doors/panels with my current interior so as not to look too ghetto-fied.
My burning questions are:
1) Can I swap out door lock mechanisms so that I can use one key on both doors and ignition.
2) Do the 1995 Eagle Talons have the same interior colors for each trim (Base, ESI) that have the manual door locks and windows?
Thanks in advance guys.
Some pics of my jacked up doors, if you think they could be salvaged by having a body shop bondo and sand them and it would cost less than my method above definatley voice it because I am not much of a body guy and do not have much experience in body work.
