when i shut my driver side door i have to lift it up for it to shut. and i have to slam it shut so the red door light will go off. is it my door hinges that are the problem

and also when i look down both sides of my window driver and paasenger. there is a gap between the window and that black strip on the outside on my door. were water and what not can get in my door. i noticed this when i was driving with the windows down and they both rattle alot!

what do i need to do for both problems?

Well to answer your first question, either the hinges are loose, or, worse, such as my case, the mounts for the hinges to the body have cracked and allow the door to pull away from the body. I had to take my door off, weld the cracks up, grind, weld, grind, paint and reassemble. Works great now.

The second part, either the tracks for the window are loose, or it is installed wrong. If the tabs are installed wrong when the window is put in, it will rattle like the whole car is falling apart when you close it. And Im pretty sure all cars have a small gap from the window to the seal. The water doesnt get sealed out, it just runs down the window and out the bottom of the door.
