i need to remove the window glass from the drivers side door on my 2g TSI FWD by tomarow night. I Have a guy coming to pick the door up and i need to get the glass out before that happens.

The big problem being i have no power to the car and the window is in the fully upright position.

Now can i just unbolt everything and pull the glass out the top? Or am i screwed without electricty?

Also any other pointers to getting the glass out?

PS I SEARCHED!

Thanks!

If you have a battery charger you can take it and use nails to make points to the motors electrical plug to roll it down. If you don't have a charger just use a battery and a set of jumper cables or 2 pieces of wire.

I have had to roll windows up like that when the switch's go bad in friends vehicles. I do it to get the window up so rain don't get in until they buy a new switch. I hope this helps because without the window going down there is no other way to get it out of its track unless you break the glass or give the glass with the door.

No worries about the correct plug to put the + on. You will know if its going up or down. You wont fry anything by doing this ghetto method so no worries there.

you can also use any 12v cordless drill battery as well. i use my snap-on impact gun battery and a pair of multimeter leads to roll the windows up and down when i have no battery in my car.

i just removed every bolt and screw i could find, and i eventually got it!
