I'm looking for the buzzer. So I can just remove it or unplug it. I'm sick of being out with the crew and hearing my door dinger when I show someone my car or I'm in their trying to play music.

I have done searching and I can not find anything. I probably have not looked arounf good enough. Please help.

Its attached behind the fuse box. I have a few extra that I've pulled though the years.

I have a after market stereo. And like, when me and my crew are doing our thing on the weekends. We open up our cars. Hoods, doors everything. And what I do is I have music playing. And its just whack having to listin to that door buzzer. I guess I can go with the idea of unpluging the little sensor.

Shut the door and put your windows down? :aha:

No, it comes off the fuse box. It has 2 clips, and a long thin white connector that it 'docks' in. I'll get some pics tonight.

It controls the ding, lights diming, key ring light, etc.

Oh I see. So like I'm going to have no lights at all for my door. Dang, well I'm going to just check it out and if I dont like it Ill just put a switch in it.

so couldnt you just take the dinger out and run a jump wire in place of it so the lights still work?

Next post: well I tried the jumper wire by my fuse box...worked fine so I ran in the house to show my homeboy...came back out and my car was on fire...

Ive seen a few cars go up in flames because of shoddy wiring....my opinion? Just close the damn door and roll the windows down...I'm not going to mess with the wiring in my car just because my friend wants to sit in my car and listen to music with the door open and complain about the door beeper

Hahah! you made me laugh! I'm just thinking about putting a constent power wire to it and putting a on/off switch to it.

You shouldn't be listening to music with the car off to begin, unless you enjoy killing your battery. Mine never beeps unless the car is off but the ignition on and door open. It's the car's way of saying "hey idiot, don't leave the keys in me, I don't want to be stolen or towed."

I must agree. But that's just us, we're obviously in a different world, being that we have turbo all wheel drive and don't feel the need to leave the door open to "show it off", probably means alot... Function over anything is where I'm getting at.

OP, what you do with your car is none of my business, so I imagine either having a head unit that can be turned on/off without the key in the ignition would be the first best option. If not I don't know; how's the beeping activated etc.? Is it like any other car where you have a black rubber button that is pressed in when the door is closed and un-pressed when open, activating the beeping noise? If so there should be a way to either keep that button "pressed in" or bypass it. Don't know, just a thought (PS: I've never examined a 2g so don't hold me responsible for bad info)

Hahaha, I know what you mean. But I do not leave my car unatended ever!
