Ok guys and gals, let me start off by first saying that I do work for a Dodge, Chrylser and Jeep dealer and the people I work for are some of the best employers I have seen anywhere.
When I got my Talon a lil over a year ago I of course let the guys at work take a look at it to tell me everything that is wrong with it. One of the main issues that I have had with it is a belt squeal. Well they have looked at it three times for the same prob in the last year.
Well yesterday a good freind of mine helped me put on new struts and clean out the engine then took a look at the alternator belt. Within 5 mins he found out what the prob was. The tensione bolt for the alternator belt was GONE! OMG Imagine that! The guys at work have replaced the entire exhaust system, done tuneups , and looked for my squeal and in a total of let's say12 hours of labor time they couldn't tell me or find that a simple tensioner botl was missing! :thumbdown Now my guys at work do great on the new vehicles but if you need work done on your DSM I HIGHLY recommend finding a friend or local garage That are knowledgable and aren't afraid to get dirty!
Not only that but I also got all the struts (Front and Back) for half the price thru my freind as I could get thru work HALF! And I work there! Well the moral of this story is simple Find your parts and then find help. Don't pay top dollar at a dealership when the job might not get done right to begin with!

The techs at my local chrysler are dishonest idiots. Not only do they have no idea what they're talkinga bout, but they lie about it/make stuff up thats "wrong" with your car. And when they do do work on your car, and they break something, they try and charge you for it.
I had them change the one power steering line on my old 1g. He broke the other line while getting the other off, and tried to charge me for both parts. THEN he didn't tighten the nut on the line down, so I dumped ALL my powersteering fluid all over the ground over an hour from home. 365 towing bill. They fixed it for free, and payed the tow bill.

Sounds like you had a few bad experiences. Problem is, Chrysler dealerships don't normally work on these cars, usually they go to the mitsu dealer at least around here. I work as a tech in a Dodge/Nissan/Hyundai dealer and honestly, I would trust most techs in my garage to work on one of my vehicles before 95% of the people on here. If you can't do the work yourself, find a dealer that works on DSMs all the time, not one that hasn't seen one in 10 years.

Well I have worked at 3 different dealerships and what i found was that there is most of the time you can find one guy that knows his stuff. I have them fix my car at there house the prices that dealerships are outragous. But I have people fix my car at the dealership thinking that i would get it done right, wrong.

Like I said...the guys here are great on our cars...Dodge, Jeep Or Chrysler...Unfortunately for the DSM you need to find someone who is really knowledgeable about them to help you out with any work. Now if I owned a fairly newer Chrysler Dodge or Jeep I would definitely use the shop here! Just not going to let them work on the Talon again!

the guy that works on mine works for mistu dealership owns a talon does all the work on it so i trust him with mine hes never steered me wrong or tried to screw me over on anything
